Ralph Angel (Kofi Siriboe) wants to move forward with his life by farming full time and obtaining custody of his son from Aunt Violet (Tina Lifford), but he encounters resistance from his family. Charley and Nova (Rutina Wesley) clash over money, and Aunt Violet discovers information that jeopardizes her relationship with Hollywood (Omar J. Dorsey) after coming face to face with someone from his past.

Ralph Angel (Kofi Siriboe) turns to Remy (Dondré T. Whitfield) for help with his business idea, and he offers encouraging advice for obtaining the capital he needs. Charley enters her final divorce mediation with Davis (Timon Kyle Durrett), where she's blindsided with his last-minute request. She turns to Remy for comfort, who advises Charley to properly mourn the loss of her marriage. Nova (Rutina Wesley) tries to raise awareness for those wrongfully imprisoned at a fundraiser where she sees Micah (Nicholas L. Ashe), who is still processing his recent incarceration. Meanwhile, Aunt Violet (Tina Lifford) learns that Hollywood (Omar J. Dorsey) might have been involved in a life-threatening accident.
