Chris' plans to attend his neighbor Lisa's big Halloween party are threatened when his mother Rochelle makes him take his younger brother and sister trick-or-treating.

Amy (America Ferrera) and Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom) attend Cloud 9 Academy to advance their careers. Dina (Lauren Ash) and Garrett (Colton Dunn) get roped into babysitting Glenn's (Mark McKinney) daughter while he childproofs his office, and Jonah (Ben Feldman) and Mateo (Nico Santos) become political activists.

With Rochelle's help, Chris tries to find an outfit for his school picture so perfect that the other kids will finally think he's cool.

With their teacher Ms. Morello (Jacqueline Mazarella) out for the day, Chris (Tyler James Williams) and Greg (Vincent Martella) decide to cut school and go see the movie "Ghostbusters." The boys think they're home free until they run into Ms. Morello at the movie theatre. Meanwhile, Drew (Tequan Richmond) and Tonya (Imani Hakim) are a little nervous when Rochelle (Tichina Arnold) decides to help out at their school's book fair. Julius (Terry Crews) spends a frustrating day at the DMV trying to renew his license.

Christy is certain that Bonnie is in over her head when she invites a freshly paroled Tammy (returning guest star KRISTEN JOHNSTON) to stay with them.
