During his magic act, the Great Santini slays business associate Jesse Jerome, who was blackmailing him. Though the illusionist has a solid alibi - he was supposedly submerged in water in an airtight trunk - Lt. Columbo finds clues that incriminate him. Meanwhile, Sgt.
