Peter Mamakos

Peter Mamakos was an actor who founded his entertainment career success with roles in film. Mamakos began his acting career appearing in various films, such as "Between Midnight and Dawn" (1950), "China Corsair" (1951) and the biopic drama "Viva Zapata!" (1952) with Marlon Brando. He also appeared in "Harem Girl" (1952), the Robert Ryan adaptation "City Beneath the Sea" (1953) and the Victor Mature drama "The Glory Brigade" (1953). He continued to act in productions like the adaptation "The Marauders" (1955) with Dan Duryea, the adventure "Desert Sands" (1955) with Ralph Meeker and "The Conqueror" (1956). He also appeared in the John Wayne western adventure "The Searchers" (1956). During the latter half of his career, he tackled roles in the Anthony Quinn dramatic adaptation "A Dream of Kings" (1969), the Leslie Nielsen sci-fi flick "The Resurrection of Zachary Wheeler" (1971) and "For Pete's Sake" (1974) with Barbra Streisand. He also appeared in the drama "The Other Side of Midnight" (1977) with Marie-France Pisier. He also was featured in the TV movie "I Love a Mystery" (NBC, 1972-73). Mamakos more recently appeared in "Jackie Collins' "Lucky/Chances"" (1990-91).
