Pierre Bordage

Celebrated as one of France's top-selling science-fiction authors, Pierre Bordage has written lengthy novels that have been widely read throughout Europe. He was born on a farm in France and was raised by devout Roman Catholic parents. As a child, he entered a seminary to become a priest, but later rejected religion as a teenager. He attended the University of Nantes and received his master's degree in modern literature. Bordage has been fascinated with Eastern religions, even taking a trip to India in the 1970s. Indeed, spirituality and humanism are key themes in his work. His literary career finally took off when a small publisher discovered him in the 1990s. His novels quickly became best sellers. In 2007, Bordage entered the world of cinema when he wrote the screenplay for the science-fiction mystery "Eden Log." The film was shot using hand-held cameras and concerns a man who wakes up with amnesia in a mysterious cave filled with strange creatures. In the following year, Bordage wrote a second screenplay for the film "Dante 01," which takes place in the future and tells the story of a psychiatric patient aboard a ship in outer space. Though his film collaborations were panned by critics, Bordage's literary career is still flourishing as he continues to release books to an increasingly larger readership.
