Ralph Staub

Ralph Staub possessed a strong directorial eye, and consequently, he found a career as a director. Staub received his start directing independent films, including early work on "Sitting on the Moon" (1936), "Affairs of Cappy Ricks" (1937) and the comedy "Join the Marines" (1937) with Paul Kelly. Staub was nominated for a Short Subject (One-Reel) Academy Award for "Hollywood in Uniform" in 1943. "The Mandarin Mystery" (1937), the musical "Prairie Moon" (1938) with Gene Autry and "Danger Ahead" (1940). He also appeared in "Sky Bandits" (1940). Followed in the thirties and the fortiesLater in his career, Staub directed the James Newill action movie "Yukon Flight" (1940). Staub passed away in October 1969 at the age of 70.
