Red Steagall was widely known for his acting on the big screen. Steagall began his career with roles in "Benji, the Hunted" (1987) with Frank Inn and "Dark Before Dawn" (1988). He then acted in the action flick "Big Bad John" (1990) with Ned Beatty, "Michael Martin Murphey's WestFest at Copper Mountain" (The Nashville Network, 1994-95) and "America's Music: The Roots of Country" (TBS, 1995-96). More recently, Steagall appeared on "Red Steagall Presents Cowboy: The Legend, the Legacy" (PBS, 2000-01).
