Sam (Scott Bakula) leaps into the body of Liz Tate who has been accused of murdering Carol Benning while they were both in jail. Alia, another leaper, has also leapt with Sam (Scott Bakula), and her observer, Zoey, has become a leaper herself.

Sam (Scott Bakula) leaps into the body of Arnold Watkins, a wimpy college freshman who has been disguising himself as the "Midnight Marauder" and protecting the innocent from evil. Sam (Scott Bakula) is there to save Arnold from attempting death-defying feats as well as making certain that Alia, the evil leaper, leaps out with him.
