Robb Wells

Canadian comedic actor Robb Wells has forged a career playing trashy lowlifes, memorably with his role as Ricky on the mockumentary-style "Trailer Park Boys" TV show and films. Raised in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, Wells met Mike Clattenberg and John Paul Tremblay in high school. The trio became fast friends and began pulling pranks with their sharp wit and idiosyncratic sense of humor. While working at pizza restaurant J.R. Capone's, they began creating home-made video skits, which eventually led to the first "Trailer Park Boys" clip and the birth of their famous characters, Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles, in 1999. By 2001 the group made a deal with the Canadian network Showcase for a series. The show, which followed the group's unsuccessful attempts to get rich and their very successful attempts to get high, became a huge hit. Over its six-year run it was nominated for a Gemini award three times, and won in 2005. The popularity of the characters and show also led to a 2009 feature-length film, "Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day," after the series came to an end. Since then, Wells has had small parts in other comedies, including "The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day" and "Hobo with a Shotgun." The "Trailer Park Boys" gang reunited for "The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Funtime Hour" in 2010.
