Meet Meredith Grey, a woman trying to lead a real life while doing a job that makes having a real life impossible. Meredith is a first year surgical intern at Seattle Grace Hospital, the toughest surgical residency program west of Harvard. She and her fellow first-year interns were students yesterday; today they're doctors in a world where on the job training can be a matter of life and death. Such is the world of "Grey's Anatomy," ABC's midseason medical drama about young people struggling to become doctors and doctors struggling to remain human. Doug can't get enough of his former football coach's praises and starts hanging around his old school. The reminiscing goes a bit too far when Doug shows up to a pep rally in his old football jersey.

Despite pressure from Oliver, Greg and her rival, Tara, Katie insists she's going to plan the Spring Gala her way. After Oliver is emasculated by his ex-girlfriend, Greg attempts to teach Oliver how to "man up" by throwing a successful barbeque.

In order to impress the other moms at school, Katie, Taylor and Oliver travel to New York to track down Nathan Fillion at a "Firefly" convention, so Katie can convince him to attend the school's spring gala.

Sylvester's father, a retired general, asks the team for help when he thinks a dictator in Africa has uncovered weapons of mass destruction from World War II.
