Robert Berlinger

A native New Yorker, Robert Berlinger is a prolific TV director and producer who has worked almost exclusively on sitcoms. After studying theater at the University of California, San Diego, Berlinger started directing television during the early 1990s, helming episodes of "Working Girl," "The Golden Girls," and "Empty Nest." Berlinger contributed to the sitcom "Doctor Doctor" for a short stint before directing more than 25 episodes of "Anything But Love," starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Richard Lewis. Following work on a few episodes of "Cybill," Berlinger became the go-to director for the popular comedy "3rd Rock from the Sun," helming more than 35 episodes of the sci-fi-themed family show. Later in the '90s, Berlinger contributed to "Veronica's Closet" and "The King of Queens," as well as the fan-favorite series "Sports Night." Subsequent series to feature Berlinger as a director include "The West Wing," "Dharma & Greg," "Two and a Half Men," and "Men in Trees." In '07, Berlinger also helmed episodes of the hit tween series "Wizards of Waverly Place," marking a shift to a different demographic for the TV veteran.
