In Part II of the Lincoln Assassination story, Bat Masterson discovers that an imposture has been committed in order to plant a scandalous story in a newspaper. He reveals bartender John Watson as the scoundrel - and, almost immediately after, finds Watson dead - a fact pointing to his own mortal danger.
