When an art dealer's wife is taken hostage at gunpoint, Luther leads a tense investigation. The hostage takers want payment in diamonds so, stalling for time, Luther substitutes a bag of replacement diamonds from the Serious Crime Unit's evidence safe. Luther and DCI Reed are on hand to arrest the gang members picking up the gems, but when everything starts to unravel Luther begins to suspect that even Reed has double-crossed him.

Tension mounts in the final episode of Ashes to Ashes as DCI Gene Hunt and his team are investigating a diamond heist following the murder of three London gang members. But DI Alex Drake is distracted and, with encouragement from DCI Jim Keats, she decides to pursue her own investigation to the bitter end - did Gene Hunt really murder Sam Tyler?

Dead on Arrival

Immortal Evan Peyton (Thomas Lockmeyer) kills a hacker. When Wolfe and Amanda investigate the case, Peyton visits Amanda. Amanda remembers how Peyton had poisoned a friend of hers in 1610. Wolfe listens to Peyton and Amanda and follows Peyton. Peyton poisons Wolfe. Wolfe becomes increasingly sick but helps Amanda behead Peyton. Amanda shoots Wolfe to trigger his immortality. Wolfe angrily tells her he cannot love someone whom he will eventually have to behead and walks away.
