Tim Walz

Walz grew up in north-central Nebraska and stayed in Nebraska through college. From there he went to Texas University of Houston for a degree in East Asian studies and served in the Texas Army National guard. Walz then became an instructor at the Arkansas Army National Guard. He taught high school social studies and was a football coach before deciding to run for Congress. Walz was elected as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2006 and reelected five times prior to being elected governor of Minnesota in 2018. He was reelected in 2022. In August of 2024, Vice President Kamala Harris selected Missesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate in the 2024 U.S. Presidential election.
