Abyss

Barbara, lawyer in the past, meets a local detective Andrew at his house, in a remote gated community, where a local killed herself in the summer. Her relative, Daria, claims that it's not suicide. Because of Daria's assertiveness, and out of boredom, Barbara decides to work on this case. But almost right away she starts seeing the ghost of the dead woman trying to tell her something.

Andrew realizes that there's something wrong happening with Barbara. But he thinks it has to do with her divorce. Barbara carries out her own investigation and finds out that the dead woman's ex-husband, is involved in her death. Barbara persuades Andrew to work on the infamous case again. But suddenly the businessman himself turns up at their door.

Shanin insists on reopening his dead wife's case. Barbara thinks it's a trap, but Andrew doesn't want to talk about this case anymore. They have an argument and Barbara decides to continue the investigation by herself. She meets the dead woman's relatives and comes to conclusion that Shanin was putting pressure on the witnesses.

Barbara tries to figure everything out and realizes that by withdrawing the papers Daria is trying to prevent her husband from becoming a suspect. At the same time Andrew starts doubting that Barbara came to the village randomly and he thinks she can be connected to another crime that happened near the village on the day of her arrival.

Barbara realizes that Andrew knows her secret, but she doesn't know what to do. Andrew interrogates the victim's brother and young lover. Their testimonies show that none of them have anything to do with her death. The ghost of the dead woman incites Barbara to kill herself, just like she did. But Andrew saves Barbara at the last second and he convinces her he is ready to help her.
