Against the Current

After her family is falsely accused of treason and brutally executed, Shen Jia Lan (Tan Song Yun) finds herself stripped of her noble status. To make matters worse, her fiancé, Lin Jin Qi (Liu Xue Yi) and his family break off the engagement to protect their own interests. Luckily, Jia Lan is taken in by a family that serves the Lins and assumes the identity of "Xu Lan Xiang," their deceased daughter. Starting as a humble third-class maid, she navigates the treacherous politics of the Lin estate, utilizing her wit and resilience to overcome rigid class barriers and systemic injustice. As she rises through the household ranks, can she earn the family's respect, re-capture Jin Qi's heart, and clear her family's name while still staying true to herself? This drama was adapted from the novel "Lan Xiang Yuan" by He Yan Shan.
