Moments after Michael Bluth decides he’s leaving the family business because he was passed over for a promotion, his father is arrested for shady bookkeeping.

Michael realizes that running the company isn't going to be as easy as he thought, especially since his father seems to be pulling some strings from inside the joint.

Michael helps Buster after he moves out of Lucille's penthouse. At the same time, he fears he is overprotecting his son George Michael, who is nervous because he must kiss Maeby in a play at school.

Michael falls in love with Gob's girlfriend, Marta. As part of an advertising act, Gob attempts to escape from the prison where his father is imprisoned. Lindsay joins the environmental cause and Buster receives a romantic note from Lucille's rival.

Michael exchanges his bicycle for his father's car and ends up carrying a stranger who mistakes him for a murderer. Lindsay tries to prove her commitment to the environment and Lucille plans to defeat her rival using Buster.

Michael uses Gob to get information from his father's secretary. Lindsay and Tobias hire a marriage counselor and Lucille has a conyugal visit with her imprisoned husband.
