Canada, 1875. The buffalo have almost disappeared and the Canadian government offers Chief Big Bear a treaty: to leave their plains and move his people to a reserve. As his people are dying from starvation, Big Bear must make a decision.

In 1885, Little Bad Man and Wandering Spirit take control of Big Bear and his warriors, launching a fatal confrontation at the settlement of Frog Lake. But when they are chased by the Canadian troops, Big Bear is sent to prison.

Wandering Spirit and Little Bad Man launch a deadly attack on the settlement of Frog Lake and burn Fort Pitt. The violence of Big Bears warriors has undermined his quest for justice.
