South Luangwa, Zambia, is one of the best places in the world to find lions. But sometimes the lions find you--like when a roaming pride of lion cubs takes shelter at the crew's campsite. For the camera team, getting close to these remarkable cats is part of the job. But how close is too close?

It's an interesting morning at Camp Zambia: baboon calls rouse the team, prompting them to head into the bush. They find that Kamuti, a local leopard, has finally made a kill. She's not alone--a lioness waits in the wings, preparing to steal her meal. Watch as the crew carefully stakes out the right position to capture this rare moment on camera.

Thanks to a military-grade thermal imaging camera, the team is able to capture the nightlife of Africa's wildlife like never before. When the sun goes down, some of the savanna's most captivating animals come out. Join the team as they get up close and personal with hippos, leopards and a den of curious hyena cubs.

High temperatures and a long drought prove too harsh for some of the Luangwa Valley's wildlife. The team finds a young elephant that has died of natural causes and films as more than fifty vultures and thousands of flies descend to feed on the carcass. Later, hyenas join in. Within a day, the 1,300 pound elephant has been reduced to bones.

Join the crew for a late-night stakeout as they use thermal imaging cameras to capture a pride of lions patiently stalking a herd of buffalo. The lions have the buffalo outnumbered, but this powerful prey won't go down easily. After hours of hunting, the Nsefu lions are forced to give up, defeated and hungry.

Kamuti, a leopard that the team has been filming for months, hasn't been seen for two weeks. They suspect an attack from a rival female leopard. The team sets out in search of Kamuti, but when they finally find her, she has a limp and serious wounds. Can she pull through?
