Das Boat

Steve purchases Das Boat in Texas. He and JT Van Zandt chase redfish, taking Das Boat into saltwater. They cook up redfish tacos and sip tequila discussing tribalism, benefits of artificial lures vs. dead bait, and the serviceability of redfish flesh.

JT and Steve send Das Boat to Austin to do urban angling. Fishing guide Alvin Dedeaux and James Beard Award winning chef Jesse Griffiths test Das Boat’s capabilities on the Lower Colorado. They target Guadalupe bass and try to find a way to land a gar.

Das Boat rolls over to Florida with Ryan Callaghan and Ed Anderson. They look for snook, tarpon, speckled trout, and redfish. They discuss the National Wildlife Refuge system, the duck stamp, Ding Darling, the queen mother of red tides.

April Vokey meets up with Oliver Ngy to figure out Lake Okeechobee. They discuss the iconography of Okeechobee, glitter boats, and the founders of Captains for Clean Water explain Florida’s water quality problems.

Frank Smethurst and Rob fish the Savannah River in Georgia. They catch sport fish and stripers. Das Boat gets an upgrade. They discuss the Georgia-South Carolina rivalry, Bartram’s Bass, and the history of Augusta and the Savannah River.

Mustache Rob and Frank are back on the Savannah River in Georgia, headed 50+ miles downstream into water that they haven't seen before. At the terminus of their trip waits Wade Plantation. Rob and Frank have to bring some catfish for the table.
