"Digimon" are "Digital Monsters". According to the stories, they are inhabitants of the "Digital World", a manifestation of Earth's communication network. The stories tell of a group of mostly pre-teens, the "Chosen Children" (DigiDestined in the English version), who accompany special Digimon born to defend their world (and ours) from various evil forces. To help them surmount the most difficult obstacles found within both realms, the Digimon have the ability to evolve (Digivolve). In this process, the Digimon change appearance and become much stronger, often changing in personality as well. The group of children who come in contact with the Digital World changes from season to season.

    Episode 1
    While at summer camp, seven kids, Tai, Matt, Sora, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, and T.K., come across seven Digivices and are transported to a strange "Digital World". In this new world they make friends with little creatures that call themselves "Digimon" — short for Digital Monsters — who claim to be the children's chosen partners. The seven "Digimon" prove to the kids that they are who they say they are when they digivolve — get much bigger, evolving into a different Digital Monster — and fight as a team to defeat a large, red beetle-like Digimon named Kuwagamon.

  • EPISODE 2
     The Birth of Greymon
    The kids come across a beach with numerous phone booths, but none of them seem to work. As they sit down for a break to eat, a wild Shellmon appears and attacks the kids. Agumon digivolves into Greymon and blasts him away into the ocean.

    Garurumon
    The kids run away from a Monochromon battle. They come across a trolley car on a small island and decide to spend the night in it, until they are attacked by a Seadramon. Gabumon eventually digivolves into Garurumon and defeats Seadramon. Then they leave the island to find land.

    Biyomon Gets Firepower
    The kids come to a Yokomon village to rest for the evening. A Meramon attacks the village and Biyomon digivolves to Birdramon to defeat him, causing a Black Gear to be expelled from his body.

    Kabuterimon's Electro Shocker
    The kids stumble upon a strange factory where they find an Andromon caught in the machinery. After they release him he attacks them. Izzy discovers strange coding, which he uses to digivolve Tentomon into Kabuterimon. Kabuterimon destroys the Black Gear controlling Andromon. Apologizing for his behavior, Andromon shows the children out of the factory.

  • EPISODE 6
    Togemon in Toy Town
    While escaping the Numemon who attacked the group in the sewers on their way out of the factory, the kids are split up and Mimi ends up in Toy Town after being attacked by a Monzaemon. There she finds the other kids acting strangely. Palmon manages to digivolve into Togemon and destroys the Black Gear that was controlling Monzaemon.
