Barbara and Lawrence Gaines give to their community daily, helping those in need. Now it's their turn: The happily married elderly husband and wife receive adaptive equipment in their home, new air conditioners and a railing to make walking up the stairs to the house safe. Since both turned 80 this year, a special surprise birthday party is underway.

John Sousa, a Special Forces veteran with the same name as the famed patriotic marching band composer, who suffered injuries from a serious on the job accident, gets a new paint job on his trailer and a new stove to cook his favorite meals. Devout in his religion, John believes in the power of spirit and the joyfulness of music.

Arleashoan Davis loves to cook, go to church, and spend time with her son. Having fallen on hard times in her life, she’s been assisted by Family Promise of Lower Cape Fear and now lives in a house that needs extensive outdoor improvement. The yard gets a serious makeover, complete with leisure furniture, while inside the house, an antiquated washer/dryer is replaced.

Dax is a charming 6-year-old boy who will steal your heart. His mom works endless hours to support her son and care for his numerous challenges. Their home needs some TLC-from an overgrown yard, making for a dangerous situation for Dax, to a ramp to accommodate his mobility issues and new furniture for this growing boy.

In this final episode of Divine Renovation-Season 1, friends, neighbors, church congregants and members of the community all come together to celebrate the family in a truly heartwarming season finale.
