Six-year-old Emma disappears during a school trip in the forest. Her mother Camille arrives as teachers and police grow worried. Emma eventually reappears, wearing her teacher Jade's scarf, but Jade is now missing. Back home, under pressure from villagers and investigators, Camille clings to the idea of a victimized child… until a new clue makes her start to doubt.

Jade remains missing and tension rises in the village. Emma, under the watch of her parents Camille and Fabien, becomes the target of rumours. A new search is launched in the forest, joined by Yvan, Jade's father. Camille is consumed by worry and begins to doubt her daughter's possible involvement, a suspicion that starts to strain her relationship with Fabien.
