Douglas is Cancelled

Greying, middle aged current affairs news anchor Douglas Bellowes is a respected broadcaster and storyteller who loves the life he and his newspaper editor wife, Sheila, have created together. Despite working as an experienced broadcaster for the show "Live at Six," behind the scenes, Douglas surprisingly needs constant reassurance from his sharper, younger, tech-savvy and social media-aware co-anchor, Madeline. He enjoys a privileged existence, regarded as a national treasure who can apparently do no wrong. That is, until he makes an ill-advised sexist joke at his cousin’s wedding which is overheard by a fellow guest who threatens to expose his comments on social media. Speculation is rife in the digital storm of controversy which follows as everyone appears to have an opinion and Douglas struggles to escape the backlash. In this chaotic and unmanageable situation, Douglas wonders whether he can count on the support of his agent and colleagues, and if his career is over.
