The Amazingly Bearded Man fights flesh bats off his space ship. Ava and Gage pick up a mysterious stranger on their way to the cyber-punk city of Shade.

Warrior Kavonaghan scavenges the apocalyptic, zombie-infested landscape, searching for a worthy opponent to cross swords with, but all she finds are uncoordinated zombies, terrible beer and Japanese samurai films.

Returning to the cyber-punk metropolis Shade after dealing with the meteor storm investigators, Super Intelligence Agent Sterling's superiors ream him out for mishandling the situation. But nothing can stop him on his hunt for the Amazingly Bearded Man whose identity is finally revealed.

Gage enlists the help of the Amazingly Bearded Man (now shaved) as an enforcer to help on his rounds collecting late library fines from the residences of Shade. A visit to Gage's ex-girlfriend Liz to recover the Amazing Bearded Man's lost memories takes a bad turn when Liz's new boyfriend turns out to be more Gage expected.

A lethal space battle rages above (and below) the streets of Shade between the Shadow States and the Consortium. The Amazingly Bearded Man joins the fight but threatens to kill the entire population of Shade. The remnants of the Shadow State forces chase Gage and the Amazingly Bearded Man until they rendezvous with an unexpected guest.
