In the autonomous coastal Spanish city of Ceuta, North Africa, young CNI Spanish intelligence agent Javier Morey begins an undercover mission in the city's troubled El Príncipe neighborhood which borders Morocco. Morey infiltrates the local police department as a new officer to investigate suspicions that officers may be collaborating with violent religious extremists. Meanwhile, he must also work togeteher with veteran police officer Francisco "Fran" Peyón in attempts to keep the neighborhood peaceful. Morey soon meets Fátima, a Muslim schoolteacher and sister to one of the neighborhood's most important drug dealers and her missing 15-year-old brother Abdu. Three months after his disappearance, Fátima is determined to find him despite police indifference about the case. While at first Morey senses an opportunity to recruit Fátima as a confidential informant, he soon develops an attraction which could endanger both his mission and his life.
