Saudi Arabia plays Mexico at Lusail Stadium in matchround three of Group C in the FIFA World Cup. The last game between the sides was in the group stage of the 1999 Confederations Cup. El Tri won 5-1 in Mexico City (Cuauhtémoc Blanco hat-trick).

This is the third World Cup meeting between Uruguay and Korea Republic. The South Americans won both of the previous two: 1-0 in Udine in the 1990 group stage and 2-1 in Port Elizabeth in the 2010 round of last 16 (two goals scored by Luis Suárez).

Cameroon takes on Brazil at Lusail Stadium in matchround three of Group G in the FIFA World Cup. Cameroon and Brazil have met two times at a World Cup before. Brazil recorded group stage victories in 1994 (3-0) and 2014 (4-1, 2 goals from Neymar).

Korea Republic plays Ghana at Education City Stadium in matchround two of FIFA World Cup Group H. Korea Republic and Ghana have played each other in six official international matches, all friendlies. Both teams recorded three wins in these games.

Netherlands faces Argentina in the quarter-final of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. In Netherlands' previous World Cup appearance, in 2014, Argentina beat the Dutch 4-2 on penalties in the semi-final. Maxi Rodríguez netted Argentina's winning penalty.

Croatia and Morocco drew 0-0 in the opening round of group stage matches at the 2022 World Cup. The third-place play-off at the 2018 tournament also featured two teams that met in the group stage. Belgium defeated England in both games (1-0 and 2-0).
