England takes on France at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor in the 2022 World Cup quarter-finals. The Three Lions won both previous World Cup matches against France: group stage triumphs in 1966 (2-0) and 1982 (3-1). England became world champion in 1966.

Morocco and Portugal met twice before at the World Cup, resulting in one group stage victory each. Morocco claimed its first ever World Cup win versus Portugal in the 1986 group stage. These teams have never met each other outside the World Cup.

Argentina takes on Croatia at Lusail Stadium in the semi-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Both teams have won a World Cup (group) match against each other; Argentina in 1998 (1-0) and Croatia in 2018 (3-0). Luka Modric scored in that Croatia win.

France and Morocco play against each other in a FIFA World Cup match for the first time. France is unbeaten versus Morocco in five friendly games, recording three wins and two draws. The teams drew 2-2 at Stade de France on Nov. 16, 2007.

Croatia and Morocco drew 0-0 in the opening round of group stage matches at the 2022 World Cup. The third-place play-off at the 2018 tournament also featured two teams that met in the group stage. Belgium defeated England in both games (1-0 and 2-0).

The only World Cup knockout phase meeting between these nations was a 4-3 victory for France in Kazan in the 2018 round of last 16. Argentina recorded group stage wins against Les Bleus in 1930 (1-0 in Montevideo) and 1978 (2-1 in Buenos Aires).
