Accused of a crime he didn’t commit, Julián Duarte is sentenced to 20 years in prison for the murder of Camila, his best friend’s wife. Behind bars, he meets Esperanza, a woman convicted of killing her husband. United by pain and tragedy, a passionate love blossoms between them. Faced with an unfair trial and the threat of death in prison, Julián and Esperanza plan an escape to prove their innocence. But the plan goes wrong, and Esperanza is recaptured while Julián manages to flee. True to his promise, he seeks out Micaela, Esperanza’s daughter, to deliver a diary that reveals the truth and then travels across Colombia in search of evidence to clear his name.
