Girl in the Basement

Inspired by true events, this is the story of Sarah, a teenager imprisoned by her father in the basement of their family home for over twenty years. The father told his wife and other children that Sarah had run away to be with a boyfriend the family disapproved of. Meanwhile, as the years went by, he would secretly visit her in the basement, raping her there while her mother and siblings continued living upstairs. Sarah gave birth alone in the basement to several children. Her father let her raise one there but brought the others upstairs, claiming to his wife that Sarah has left the grandchildren on their doorstep.
