When someone drops a bag of drugs on the floor, Barry's decision to pick it up changes his life forever. A bloody incident rocks the wing, leaving officers Elin and Ned fearing for their jobs. Meanwhile, a new prisoner's arrival upends everything.

Barry comes under pressure to sell the drugs he found, but things backfire when he tries to reason with the owner and is forced to partner with Kit. Though Peter looks forward to his mother's visit, events beyond his control push him over the edge.

Barry receives a visit from his little brother, Dale, who reveals that he is in serious financial trouble, and his hopes of returning to a quiet life are derailed. Elin realizes that George deceived her.

Regretting his argument with Dale, and with Kit controlling him like a puppet, Barry turns to violent measures. Elin discovers who has been blackmailing her and decides to confront them. Bad news leads Peter to a dark place.
