After his wife Natalia's sudden death, architect Igor Semenov finds her hidden second phone. When her mother hints at an affair, he begins to suspect Natalia led a double life.

Igor questions Natalia's relatives and friends about a possible lover and realizes they are hiding something. A man answers a number from her secret phone, and Igor's younger daughter reveals visits to a friend named Alexander.

Former police captain Panfilov helps Igor trace the unknown number to Alexander Kartashev, a man who had been calling Natalia. At home, Igor finds his wife's hidden bank card holding a large sum of money.

Natalia's parents know nothing about her secret bank account. When her mother finds an old university photo that includes Kartashev, Igor recognizes him and hires ex-police captain Panfilov as a private investigator.

Natalia's mother and friends insist they hid nothing, and Igor accepts that shock clouded his judgment. Then investigator Panfilov arrives with evidence that Natalia's death involved foul play.
