INTAKE is an observational, action-packed and inspirational documentary series following recruits from across New Zealand (Aotearoa) as they undertake the intense 16-week Army BASIC training in Waiouru, in the middle of NZ's Volcanic Plateau. For many this is their chance to escape from challenging home lives and change their lives for the better.

In the premier episode of Intake regular civilians are brought in to start their military training. These newbies are in for a rough road to get trained up to be the best of the best in the New Zealand military!

In this episode of Intake: From American made rifles to giant bazookas these cadets must learn all of their weapons in a short amount of time!

In this episode we get to see the cadets work in cold weather!

In this episode of Intake we meet more of the new recruits who are starting their journey into the New Zealand military. They have just sixteen weeks to go from civilian to soldier. Follow along as they struggle to acclimate to military life and work to keep up with the rigors of basic training!

In this episode of Intake the New Zealand Army incorporates Maori tribal traditions. The recruits learn about Ngāti Tūmatauenga, the army's own iwi and they get a taste of modern warfare.

Episode 6

In this episode of Intake the recruits will encounter their hardest exercise yet. They will be pushed to the limit and some will doubt whether they will make it to the end!
