I’m back with Florida crappie guide Jack Smith and his unique system of using submerged neon green lights to attract and inspire big black crappie to bite at night. This system is proven to catch more and bigger black specks when the sun goes down and the bite turns on.

Some great tips for being versatile and changing bait colours when the crappie bite slows down. Karl and buddy ‘seabass’ are fishing for black crappie on weed beds in front of spawning bays with slip floats and two-inch minnow-style plastic baits suspended just above the weeds and changing the baits from green to orange and pink tones turns on the crappie bite once again.

Karl is back in Texas fishing with James Davis and they are fishing for roaming crappie that are suspended below the surface in off-coloured water conditions in a river system with ten-foot jig poles and soft plastic baits with vibrating tails to catch a bunch of chunky crappies on a flat calm sunny morning.
