Irish woman Lorna Brady awakes to discover a corpse in her home with no memory of how it got there or whether she is responsible. Despite surviving horrific abuse years ago at the Magdalene Laundries -- infamously abusive "asylums" run by religious institutions in Ireland from the 18th to late 20th centuries -- as a result of her traumatic experience experiences, she continues to suffer from episodes of sleepwalking and vivid flashbacks of her past which cause her to doubt her current sense of reality. When Irish Detective Colman Akande arrives to investigate the body, he and Lorna are drawn into a tangled pursuit and a game of cat-and-mouse as they search for answers in a small town filled with long-buried secrets.
