Becky Richards declares that she will run for Mayor of Mayfield to spite her arch nemesis, Goody-Two Shoes Serena Balfour. What begins as a joke turns real when Becky's best friends, Margo and Kiki, accidentally register her as a candidate for the election.

Becky begins her campaign for Mayor. The current Mayor, Mort Braddock, seems unbeatable. It's also a total bummer that Becky's crush happens to be Mort's son, Jack. While on a date with Jack, Mort turns up and tries to convince Becky to quit. This only increases her determination. When Becky and her friends find evidence at the last minute that Mort is corrupt, the odds turn in her favour to win the election.

Becky's expectations of a breezy first day at City Hall are soon shattered when she is faced with a mountain of files. In addition to her new mayoral duties, Becky has to help Kiki plan a birthday party for Margo. Unfortunately Becky gets stuck in a never-ending council meeting and just misses the party, so her friends bring the party to her at City Hall. Becky learns that being Mayor is more work than she had thought but her friends are there to help her along the way.

Serena is organizing a beach-themed fundraising party for a village she adopted in Togo. Trying to impress with her new found power as Mayor, Becky makes a promise that she will provide access to the Mayfield Aquatic centre for the party. Unfortunately Mayor Becky has to apply for a permit like everyone else. Will she go down the corrupt path and accept Jack’s help to pull some strings or find a creative and ethical way to pull off a pool party?

Mayor Becky is grounded by her mother, and exacts revenge by using her political power position.

Becky isn't happy when she must work with a nemesis on an environmental project for the city.
