After their defeat in the battle of Badr the leaders of the Quraysh plot an attack on the Prophet. They decide to target Hamzah Ibn Abdul-Mutalib who had joined the ranks of the Prophet and who was responsible for the death of many of their people. The battle went on and Hamzah was martyred, at the hands of Wahshi Ibn Harb.

Abu Talib ibn Abd al-Muttalib

The Quaraysh leaders find out and decide to exchange Omara for the Prophet so that they could kill him since he was causing a stir in their system. Abu Talib rejects this deal that the Quraysh leaders proposed and assures the Prophet that they will never get him while he is still alive.
