The year is 1975. The Indian government has declared a state of Emergency. The citizens try to cope with the fall-out. One of them being Narendra Modi.

A young Narendra tries to galvanise his classmates into participating in the school's 26th January parade while the older Narendra urges his associates to take a stand against oppression.

In parallel timelines, Narendra the schoolboy is restless with his lot in life while the political party worker is entrusted with a covert task.

In 1967, Narendra travels to Kedarnath, where the sadhus are mired in drugs and fraud. At the Ramakrishna Math in Calcutta, Swami Vishveshwaranand advises him to return home to unravel the journey of his soul.

In 1985, Balasaheb Deoras orders the 35-year-old Narendra Modi to join the BJP. In 1962, when a child is bitten by a dog in the playground, Narendra and his friends raise funds to build a wall around the grounds for safety.
