And they have some ideas as to where this year’s bucks are to be found on the historic estate. Here, we will join the two friends Franz-Albrecht Oettingen-Spielberg and Jean-Dominic Sturm.

Roebuck during the late summer is a unique experience, and good experiences just get better when shared with friends – like Jean-Dominique Sturm and Franz-Albrecht von Oettingen-Spielberg do at Trolle Ljungby. Normally, the rut is most intense in the end of July and the beginning of August. By the 16th, the main rutting season is drawing to an end, and the call isn’t always as effective as it would have been a fortnight before. But it is important to keep alert. You never know what will happen next, and Franz-Albrecht keeps his rifle ready for immediate use.

The saga of the fabulous “Franz Buck” came to an end. Pursued for years. Outwitting the hunter on several occasions. Old. Experienced. Still king of the hill in the rut.
