The kids follow clues and eventually unmask the ghostly culprit.

Stinkweed, the monster star of a series of horror movies, suddenly appears in real life, terrorizing malls. The actor who portrays Stinkweed in the films hires the kids to prove that he isn't responsible for Stinkweed's heinous crimes.
