The Cheaters is a 1960–1962 British television drama series produced by The Danzigers. The stories revolved around John Hunter, insurance claims investigator for the American Eastern Insurance company. It aired on ITV for two seasons with a total of 39 episodes. Directors of episodes included Max Varnel, John Moxey, Godfrey Grayson, Bill Lewthwaite and Frank Marshall.

Mary's father didn't read the fine print when he filled out his life insurance policy and now that he's died, she's unable to claim the money from that policy.

Ageing playwright Eugene Calder dies of a seizure but has a £50,000 payout. Hunter investigates to see whether it was accident or murder. Calder had a much younger wife but was cheating on her with a married woman.

A fire on the eve of Madame Arlette's fashion show destroys all her dresses and raises suspicions. Walter Allen discovers Arlette's model Mona is in demand, but she is married to a suspicious character called 'The Weasel'.

A jewel robbery turns to a murder case when the suspect is found dead in a hotel room.

When penniless Henry McCoy dies of heart attack, his lawyer Mr Hardy discovers he was once rich and left a £50,000 life insurance to his son David. When a David McCoy contacts Hardy they plan to get the cash before the real son shows.

George Connel has suffered three heart attacks and his doctor doesn't believe he'll survive another one. He has no money but wants to leave his relatives some cash. So he ropes in a fellow conman Tim for one last confidence trick.
