For this grand ranking of French villages, 22 communes have been selected to represent each region. Some of them are famous, others less known. The natural, historical, architectural and even gastronomic heritage has been considered in this selection.

In 2012, viewers elected Saint-Cirq Lapopie as "the favorite village of the French". In 2013, 22 new villages are submitted to the vote. All of them are classified "most beautiful villages of France" by the association with the same name...

The presentation of a selection of 22 emblematic villages of the country continues. Among the sites visited are Andlau in Alsace, Labastide d'Armagnac in Aquitaine, Charroux in Auvergne, among others...

"The favorite village of the French" celebrates this year its 5th anniversary. Stephane Bern goes once again on the roads of France, to discover thirteen new villages.
