The Freshman Class

This docuseries follows four aspiring chefs as they make their way through the curriculum at the Louisiana Culinary Institute in Baton Rouge. Each one faces unique challenges in the pursuit of a culinary degree. The students featured are: Tiffany, whose plans to be a doctor derailed when she became a full-time mother of four at age 22; Marine Corps veteran Jared, who has memory issues and hearing loss as a result of injuries in Afghanistan; single mom Jasmine, an exotic dancer who has dreamed of owning a seafood restaurant in Louisiana; and Ben, a taxidermist who wants to give his family more stability.
