Polaris VI Antarctic Research Station. The winterers are getting ready for the long polar night as the summer crew flies back home.

A storm builds around the base and the search for Annika must be called off. Pressed by Johan, Maggie tries to remember what happened after Miles' death.

Arthur recovers inside the base. He tells Johan not to trust Maggie. She's not who she says she is. She's the one who killed them all. Arthur recalls that Maggie was a last-minute addition to the team and thinks she wanted to steal his research. Johan doesn't know who to trust. But time is running out, as Maggie struggles to remember...

Arthur reveals that the body found buried in the snow is none other than Sarah Jackson, the scientist who died years ago during the Polaris V accident, a failed mission that ended in tragedy. A mission led by Arthur and most of the Polaris VI crew. The base went up in flames and was swallowed by the ice.

Back in Polaris V, the team did not find the radio parts they were looking for. But Maggie insisted to take Sarah Jackson's body back to Polaris VI. She claimed it was the right thing to do... but what she really wanted was to do a proper autopsy.
