An investigative journalist meets with a strange man who tells him about the Lair, a notorious sex club; Jonathan gets caught up in The Lair.

Jonathan's body is found face down on the riverbank.

Eric rejoins the gang at the Lair, and Damian initiates him into the inner sanctum of the risen ones; Thom visits soon after, in search of information about his comatose boyfriend.

Thom reminds Damian of Richard Devere, the man who painted his portrait two centuries ago, and the only man Damian has ever loved. Colin takes advantage of Damian's infatuation to seize control of the Lair.

Damian suspects one of the vampires of stealing the missing paint.
