European cybercrime specialists work to infiltrate Sky ECC, the popular encrypted messaging app used by drug traffickers.

After infiltrating Sky ECC, authorities get a live glimpse into a vast criminal underworld, including cases involving massive drug shipments, kidnappings, torture, and murder-for-hire plots. Later, investigators use the app to stop a crime in real time.

As Sky ECC falls, investigators are left to comb through billions of messages. Later, authorities face a legal battle over the operation.
