Between 1939 and 1945, the war revolutionizes British railways as the country has to build new trains, set up secret headquarters, move men, weapons and equipment.

At the start of the 1930s, the German railway is the most successful in the world; but the rise of Nazism and its support for the expansion of automobile power begins to curb this rise.

Trains were at the heart of the D-Day landing strategy and the liberation of Europe, starting with strategic bombings that aimed to paralyze the entire French rail system.

Sabotaging railways acted as one of the levers of the French Resistance, and an effective weapon in the fight to liberate France.
