Hilda Plowright

Hilda Plowright was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Plowright found her beginnings in film with roles in the David Niven crime picture "Raffles" (1940), the Joseph Cotten drama "The Magnificent Ambersons" (1942) and "Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" (1953). Plowright next focused her career on film, appearing in the drama "Until They Sail" (1957) with Jean Simmons, the dramatic adaptation "Separate Tables" (1958) with Rita Hayworth and the drama "Summer Magic" (1963) with Hayley Mills. She also appeared in the James Garner spy picture "36 Hours" (1964). Later in her career, Plowright acted in the Audrey Hepburn adaptation "My Fair Lady" (1964). Plowright passed away in October 1973 at the age of 83.
