It's Christmas and best buddies and petty crims Nick and Rudy have two days left in prison. Rudy wants to start a new life on the straight and narrow, while Nick just wants to see the pen-pal girlfriend he's never met, Ashley. Just before their release, Nick is murdered and Rudy ends up impersonating his dead friend to Ashley. This deception is his first big mistake as the real Nick has some heavily armed, low-life thugs waiting for him on the outside - including Ashley's psychotic brother. They plan to double-cross Rudy into undertaking a daring casino heist. So Rudy's newly assumed identity is about to cost him the one thing worth living for - his freedom.
