Juliette Lewis

As the daughter of character actor Geoffrey Lewis, Luiette Lewis grew up around Hollywood. Technically, her first role was at the age of 7 in "Bronco Billy" (1980), where she made an uncredited appearance alongside her father. Her first major part would come seven years later in "Home Fires" (1987), beginning to draw the eye of critics and viewers. She was very busy over the next few years, appearing in the show "I Married Dora" (ABC 1987-88) and playing Chevy Chase's daughter in "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" (1989). She truly turned heads in the Martin Scorcese-directed remake of "Cape Fear" (1991), where she was nominated for an Academy Award for her portrayal of daughter Danielle. She rode that acclaim to a number of interesting projects, including Woody Allen's "Husbands and Wives" (1992), the noir drama "Romeo Is Bleeding" (1993), and the Brad Pitt-starring "Kalifornia" (1993). The mid-'90s saw one of her most notable roles of the era as she starred as Mallory Knox in Oliver Stone's dark satire "Natural Born Killers" (1994). Lewis followed up that stunning performance with a slew of other films, such as "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" (1993), "The Basketball Diaries" (1995), and "From Dusk Till Dawn" (1996). For the rest of the decade, Lewis kept busy, but few of her roles drew as much notoriety. She did earn an Emmy nomination for her role in "Hysterical Blindness" (HBO 2002). Over the next few years, she started to dabble more in music, retreating to more guest and cameo roles in movies and television, like her appearances in "Old School" (2003) and "Starsky & Hutch" (2004). In 2004, she released her debut album from the indie rock band Juliette and The Licks. Music became much more of her focus, as her band released two more albums before they split up as Lewis focused on her solo music career, where she released two more albums. That coincided with her return to more major roles as she appeared in everything from the sports movie "Whip It" (2009) to the Meryl Steep-led drama "August: Osage County" (2013). She also starred in "The Firm" (NBC 2012), "Secrets and Lies" (ABC 2015-16), and "Wayward Pines" (Fox 2015). She also appeared in a recurring role on the "Roseanne" spinoff "The Conners" (ABC 2018-).
