Fashions of 1934

Academy Award winner Bette Davis stars with William Powell in this storyof a genial American con man who finds romance in Paris while trying to make a crooked buck out of the Fashions of 1934. Swindler Sherwood Nash (Powell--Thin Man films) decides to transfer his base of operations from New York to Paris and move into the fashion "racket." He lays the groundwork for his con by promoting rising young designer Lynn Mason (Davis--All About Eve; Now, Voyager), but the good-natured schemer gets caught in his own trap when he falls in love with Mason. Now, what to do about his partner-in-crime,The Duchess (Veree Teasdale), who's currently posing as a White Russian countess? Choreography by Busby Berkley.
